Our Philosophy
Tasteful Ideas Design Group, Inc., located in the midwest,
was formed in 1986 by John Thomsen. The philosophy behind
the creation of Tasteful Ideas remains the same today;
"Same Old... Plain Old... doesn't work here. Create
something with a dash of flair, a little top spin, a touch
of uniqueness. It is our job to provide our clients with
something that stands out in a crowd."
Tasteful Ideas has been doing just that, successfully, for
21 years. Our designs have won numerous awards, been highlighted
regionally, nationally and internationally, BUT the absolute
truth of our success has been WE MAKE OUR CLIENTS MONEY!
That is why Tasteful Ideas' main source of self promotion
is word-of-mouth. We have found that the better the job
we do, the more effort we make and the more comprehensive
our service, the happier our clients are, and they tell
their friends, who tell their friends.....and so on.
To date, Tasteful Ideas STILL handles the graphic work for
the FIRST TWO clients they aquired in 1986. That has to
tell you something.
Our History
Tasteful Ideas is owned and
managed by the husband and wife team of John and Therese
Thomsen. John graduated from the University of Missouri
in 1979 with a degree in Public Affairs. After graduation,
he was the art/production coordinator for a folding carton
company specializing in frozen food packaging. It was here
that John gained his experience in how the print production
process works and the impact of great packaging as it applies
to strong sales.
John went on to become the production manager/art director
for Gilbert/Robinson, Inc. a nationally known restaurant
group whose concepts included Houlihan's, Bristol Bar and
Grill and many single unit specialty restaurants. It was
here that Thomsen refined his skills in "making people
buy what we want them to buy."
Therese Thomsen also graduated from the University of Missouri
in 1979 with a degree in Marketing. Therese's career started
as a travel agent, then moved up to a managerial post with
Maupintour, a world recognized name in travel package planning.
It was here that Therese learned her skills in customer
service, thoroughness in tasks and attention to detail.
Therese joined Tasteful Ideas as managing partner in 1989.
